Applying for Visas

The International Department (ID) at the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) is dedicated to supporting international students, especially those who require a visa to study in Malta. The primary role of the ID is to welcome students from around the world and assist them in adjusting to both academic life at ITS and their new environment in Malta. Our office offers a wide range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of international students throughout their journey.

Before Student Arrives in Malta

  1. Issues official letters required to initiate the student visa application process.
  2. Assists students in finding suitable accommodation by connecting them with trusted residences and housing providers
  3. Collaborates closely with Identità to ensure that all documentation and procedures related to visa applications are processed in a timely fashion.

After Student Arrives in Malta

  1. Supports students as they acclimate to life in Malta by providing practical information and cultural guidance.
  2. Maintains regular communication with students to address any concerns or ongoing needs they may have.
  3. Offers assistance with completing and submitting all necessary documentation to apply for or finalize their student visa through Identity Malta.
  4. Offers help with Jobsplus and skillspass applications.

Application Process

  1. After submitting a successful application online through the ITS website, the student shall receive the acceptance letter from the registrar.
  2. Once students pay the first semester fees, the ID sends an email with instructions, links to the VFS centres and a form for the student to fill out.
  3. Once the student fills out the form the ID then contacts Identita’ informing them of the student application, ID also prepares the School Enrolment letter (visa letter) for the student to be able to apply for the study visa and helps the student with any issues they might face.
  4. When the student arrives in Malta, the ID shows them around campus and helps them find the closest amenities to their flats.
  5. The ID also assists non-European foreigners in applying for a student visa renewal.
